Ingredients

Dough

There are a some great options when it comes to pizza dough. We have two dough recipes available to choose from: ’00’ flour dough & White bread flour dough. Don’t fancy making your own dough? You can order some of our pre-made dough: Neapolitan dough or Gluten Free dough.

Pizza Sauce

  • 1 can San Marzano tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional, to taste)

Toppings

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 ½ cups sliced pepperoni
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Method

1. Prepare the Dough: Follow the instructions for your chosen recipe or allow your pre-made dough to proof.

2. Prepare the Sauce:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the garlic and onion powder, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the San Marzano tomatoes and crush them lightly with a spoon. Then add oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar (if using). Stir and simmer on low for 10-15 minutes. Adjust seasoning to taste. Remove from heat.

3. Assemble the Pizza:

  • Heat up your pizza oven to 350-400°C.
  • Stretch out your dough ball on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle or larger if you are wanting a bigger pizza base.
  • Spread a thin layer of your sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Add slices of fresh mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  • Arrange the sliced pepperoni evenly over the cheese.

4. Bake the Pizza:

  • Use a pizza peel to place your pizza into your pizza oven.
  • Once your pizza is in the oven you will need to turn the pizza every 20-30 seconds.
  • We recommend using a turning peel as it allows you to spin the pizza without having to remove it from your pizza oven.
  • Pizza ovens cook pizza very quickly (usually 60-90 seconds) so make sure you keep an eye on it as it is cooking to prevent it from burning.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with a few more fresh basil leaves, and drizzle with olive oil.

5. Serve:

  • Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Optionally, garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  • Slice and enjoy your homemade pepperoni pizza!
